The Maitripa College Distance Learning Program is a Buddhist Studies program designed by Yangsi Rinpoche to educate distance students seeking an in-depth and critical understanding of Buddhist thought in the context of both traditional and academic scholarship and wishing to integrate meditative experience of the path with training in integrating Buddhist principles into active service.

Maitripa College Online currently offers a selection of core courses in Buddhist philosophical and meditation training with the encouragement that all distance students pursue service in their communities. 

MC Online also hosts online support pages where students at our Portland campus can learn, connect, and collaborate with each other and with their distance learning peers.

A Maitripa College education is designed to offer three pillars for a complete education: training in scholarship, meditation, and service. The distance learning program at Maitripa College is designed to offer students the opportunity to take advantage of the unique course offerings and educational methods of the College from anywhere in the world.
